The Role
Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, the position of Senior Management Accountant is a busy and dynamic position. Within this position, you will be responsible for the effective and efficient financial management associated with the Town's budget development and review, reporting and analysis support. Working collaboratively with all areas of the organisation, you will deliver innovate solutions and improved financial management practices.
As Senior Management Accountant your position will include the tasks listed above as well as the following activities:
- Developing costing methodologies
- Management and reconciliation of reserve accounts
- Participate in policy and process development
- Assisting with the annual Financial Statement
- Day to day activities and customer focused financial information
The successful applicant will be required to meet the following essential criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce with membership or ability to gain membership of a recognised professional body of accountants
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of financial management reports including annual budgets, monthly reports and annual financial statements
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role including budget development and management
- Demonstrated experience in team leading and management
Previous experience working within Local Government will be an advantage working within this position.
