Your Role

The Senior ManagerAnalytics and Insights will play a pivotal role in helping Australians get more of what they value beyond the checkout by delivering data and analytics products that enable timely, data-driven decisions to define and deliver against the program and member experience strategy.

Product Management, Analytics & Insights

  • Help to define the vision for Insights Led Loyalty and the strategy for Flybuys to achieve this vision
  • Define, articulate and deliver the Analytics and Insights strategy and roadmap to support the program and experience strategy
  • Provide rich, timely, actionable insights to inform the Program Strategy and identify and prioritise initiatives to improve member experience and program outcomes.
  • Define and manage the delivery roadmap for the data products and services; maintain prioritised backlog for product development and responses to BAU service requests, along with consistent communication to stakeholders to ensure they remain updated, engaged and excited by our vision for the future.
  • Design and deliver market-leading data products and services that provide actionable commercial insights to understand, run and optimise the Flybuys program and member experience 
  • Drive development of capability in customer Analytics and Insights for the retail industry, with deep expertise in using analytics for customer journeys, voice of customer, lifetime value and customer retention to drive commercial outcomes such as increased points earn and redemptions, increased points margin, shopper frequency, basket expansion and sales uplift. 
  • Drive implementation of Analytics and Insights best practices; focus on sophisticated methodology to advance analytics maturity across the enterprise, with frameworks for impact measurement (ROI), behavioural modelling, causal inference, experimental design, test and learn programs, hypothesis testing and empirical evaluations
  • Manage efforts to capture feedback from stakeholders, with the information used to measure success and enable continual improvements to data products and services 

Leadership & Delivery

  • Provide the necessary communication to support the broader data and Insights program roadmap, with internal communication across the data teams to manage cross-team dependencies and external communication to ensure alignment with stakeholders 
  • Design and implement strategies for new data acquisition (structured and unstructured data) and further data enrichment opportunities, as required to support product development and future innovation
  • Lead the data team responsible for delivering data products and services that support the Flybuys program and member experience; define success metrics for data products, define team KPIs and ensure team priorities are aligned to overarching business objectives
  • Coach and mentor team members (hard and dotted line direct reports), empowering them to confidently lead and deliver valuable data products and services for the Flybuys program 
  • Play important role in the data and Insights leadership team at Flybuys, contributing to development of the enterprise data strategy and the realisation of value from data for Flybuys and its members
  • Engage with senior stakeholders across the Flybuys business; lead discussions, inform thinking and influence decisions 
  • Provide support to manage budgets and costs for the data teams, along with development of business cases for strategic initiatives 

Your Experience

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business analytics, data science, statistics, economics or other
  • Commercial acumen, enterprise-oriented mindset and desire to deliver business value
  • Ability to solve complex problems and resilience to overcome challenges in the delivery of business outcomes
  • Curious, innovative thinker who can translate ideas into practical solutions
  • A sharp data, technology and business mind with proven ability to develop and then execute data strategies
  • Expert technical knowledge in business analytics, customer insights and data science, which is used to guide the design and delivery of data products and services
  • Compelling data storyteller; capable of extracting key insights and presenting information to non-technical audiences in a way that is engaging, easy to understand and enables datadriven actions
  • Extensive experience leading and working in large data teams, particularly within a data-led organisation that seeks to deliver products and services to customers in the retail industry
  • Extensive experience with product management for data products and services, particularly the discovery process, product design and UX, productionisation, product quality assurance and the response to customer feedback
  • Understand the many dimensions of data collected in the online and offline environments, with in-depth knowledge of how to bring such datasets together in an effective manner
  • Experience working with a team developing a modern data platform to support a data-led organisation, with an understanding of data ecosystems, DataOps systems, data governance solutions and MLOps systems
  • Strong leader who can drive capability uplift and transformational change within data teams
  • Desire to continually improve, learn and stay up-to-date with best practices in the data, Analytics and Insights space
  • Capable of working in a dynamic, complex and multi-stakeholder environment
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, particularly in the development of new products and services
  • Experience managing a broad and diverse set of stakeholders, setting expectations and working collaboratively at multiple levels of the organisation to get things done
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), people management and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Extensive experience leading and managing cross-functional teams
  • Capable of maintaining strategic focus through the day-to-day operational challenges, ensuring the team remain focused on the ultimate goal rather than tactical outcomes
  • Results-driven leader who values people, diversity and team culture, and has a track record for recruiting, retaining and growing talent
  • Proven ability to inform and influence decisions at the executive level
  • Extensive experience with best practice agile development and lean start-up principles
  • Experience driving transformational change initiatives
