Our Opportunity
Reporting to the GM Engineering and Projects, the Senior Manager Asset Management and Engineering is ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of asset health, asset performance, reliability, engineering standards/governance and asset systems. This role is based out of the Perth office, but requires regular travel to engage with various stakeholders on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Make Fortescue a global safety leader through visible and effective leadership
- The safe execution of all activities being undertaken by all representatives within the group, at both Perth and site locations
- Develop, maintain and administer systems and procedures required to improve reliability and performance of NPI, fixed and mobile assets to align with corporate objectives
- Reporting on CAPEX and OPEX progress and financial performance, with respect to meeting agreed corporate objectives
- Improve efficiency and performance of assets through the execution program
- Provide assistance and support across the operating sites, such as recovery from breakdown, offsite repair program, etc
- Managing and promoting strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including key strategic vendors
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and heritage standards for all activities undertaken by the Asset Management and Reliability team and assisting the operational business to achieve the same where required
- Develop and support management team endorsing diversity and career progression
- Support Maintenance Management across Fortescue in the improvement of reliability of key assets
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering (or Equivalent) with previous experience in a similar role
- Effective leader with a track record of delivering operational outcomes
- Demonstrated depth of knowledge and technical expertise across a wide range infrastructure and asset types, including both greenfield and brownfield projects, mobile assets, best practise maintenance and systems.
- Team player with the ability to influence your peers
- Ability to build and support high performing teams across a broad range of disciplines and business units
- Well-developed commercial acumen for the purposes of providing sound guidance to direct reports in relation to any commercial matters
- Strong appreciation for and understanding of all operating units within Fortescue, relating to the operational processes and infrastructure required for the mining, processing and handling of iron ore
- Strong communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively and develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, ensuring delivery upon agreed expectations
