You'll be the main contact for government relations and policy programs, providing strategic advice, liaising with political and Industry leaders, and supporting stakeholder engagement. Additionally, you'll advise on growth opportunities, risk mitigation, and contribute to Transurban’s corporate objectives.As our Senior Manager, Government and Industry Relations, you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging and exciting work.Day-to-day, you will:
- Drive NSW Government Relations and Industry strategy to shape and enhance local engagement
- Manage engagement between Transurban senior management, NSW Government, local councils, and Industry
- Broaden relationships with NSW Government, positioning Transurban as a trusted partner on transport and mobility solutions
- Develop and maintain robust stakeholder relationships
- Monitor NSW politics and stakeholder matters, advising on government relations and community management issues
- Support growth and social licence objectives by strengthening relationships with third-party advocates and membership organisations
- Lead engagement with key peak bodies, including briefings, research, and report writing
- Advise and support the NSW Operations Team on strategic stakeholder and community issues
- Provide strategic advice on potential issues or risks impacting business goals or development opportunities
- Be the key contact for government stakeholders, essential to achieving Transurban’s business objectives
- A vast amount of senior experience in corporate communications, government relations, or public affairs
- Proven experience with senior Government and Industry stakeholders
- Established networks within Government and deep understanding of public policy in transport and infrastructure
- Expertise in corporate reputation management, strategic shareholder engagement, and issues management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing skills and ability to manage risk in complex environments
- Strategic thinking and pragmatic action with strong planning and organisational abilities
- Proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
- Highly developed critical thinking skills
- Ability to translate complex information for a community audience
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- High-level computer skills and understanding of digital communications
- Initiative and ability to work autonomously
- Knowledge of sustainability issues
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
