The opportunity
QBE Insurance has a strong commitment to ensuring privacy and as such, an exciting new position of Senior Manager, Privacy Compliance has become available on a permanent basis. Responsible for advising on and overseeing adherence to our privacy obligations, this position acts as the subject matter expert in all things privacy compliance and will be an integral advisor to the team and business on these matters.
On a regular basis, your role will involve:
- Helping develop the strategy and workplan for the AUSPAC Privacy team
- Providing expert, informed advice and guidance to the business on privacy risk, controls and data management requirements
- Overseeing the effective implementation of the Group privacy framework into the AUSPAC business
- Overseeing and/or attending OAIC conciliations and managing the relationship with this regulator
- Implementing pragmatic business plans and strategies to further build QBE’s privacy risk maturity
- Completing PIAs, privacy breach assessments and other such activities
- Providing meaningful insights to the business and senior executives on the management of privacy
- Leading a small team of privacy experts
As a leading expert in privacy, you will demonstrate exceptional knowledge in privacy requirements. Your expertise allows you to implement best practice across a broad and complex organisation and you have proven success in uplifting maturity/compliance as a result.
Your stakeholder and relationship management skills are vast, enabling you to consult, guide and influence others across a broad organisation to ensure compliance with privacy obligations and minimise risk to the business. A background in insurance and/or financial services is beneficial from a contextual perspective, but not essential.
