The Leaders
Reporting to the Head of Workforce Strategy, you will work collaboratively to deliver Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) initiatives. Their background is impressive, with a broad range of local and international experience working across an array of industries, driving innovation and transformation that has seen significant uplift in employee and organisational performance. Their style is down to earth, collaborative and someone who empowers their team to genuinely deliver their best work.
The Opportunity
The Senior Manager, Strategic Workforce Planning will play a crucial role in enabling Airservices to deliver on its corporate strategy through its people by developing and implementing SWP across the enterprise.
In this greenfield role, you will be the SME when it comes to SWP; providing advice and guidance on best practice, partnering with the business to carry out analysis around the future of work to ensure the right capability is in place at the right time to support their plans.
You’ll work to educate the business on the criticality of SWP and how it will support the continued success of their operations.
Further, you will:
- Support the creation, maintenance and governance of the organisation-wide SWP framework
- Drive consistency, clarity and visibility across the business in relation to critical skills to deliver across the short and long-term strategic plans
- Lead the change and project management of the rollout of SWP programs, including a ‘pilot approach’ with the ability to measure effectiveness for future iterations
- Through research and analysis, identify capabilities needed to meet current and emerging needs
- Develop meaningful and critical analysis reports and insights to identify foreseeable and forecasted changes as a result of factors both internal and external
- Work in partnership with the broader P&C team including, talent and capability, to support the design and implementation of appropriate succession and development plans
- Provide ongoing insights to ensure that the EVP is fit for purpose to attract and retain critical talent
- Conduct future of work analysis with reference to specific industry, technology and workforce demographics
- Provide inclusive, collaborative and strategic leadership to the Senior Analyst, SWP to work together to drive outcomes.
This role is ideal for an experienced Strategic Workforce Planning professional with direct experience in aviation, engineering, logistics or technical/operational environments. Experience working in STEM and working knowledge around the future of work and industry 4.0 is key.
A background in consulting with demonstrated experience working with clients in the abovementioned sectors would be advantageous.
As this role is a greenfield opportunity, the ability to be strategic and hands on is a must. You will be comfortable working in an environment that is moving at pace and often, at times, working with grey, finding structure in this to remain focused on outcomes. Superior stakeholder engagement skills are critical as you will work to educate, influence and create a culture that has a strong affinity and awareness of SWP and its importance.
In addition to SWP, knowledge of best HR practices and employment market trends will see you demonstrate your thought leadership. As this role is business critical, you will also have the opportunity to publish White Papers and other artefacts that support SWP and the future of work.
Above all, you will be credible, values-led and demonstrate commercial acumen. A strong analytical mind with the ability to use data to inform decisions will see you achieve success.
