Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Applications Close: 28/01/2024 Position No: RENG-EQP-MDE Work Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Bunbury RCR Mining Technologies has an exciting career opportunity in Bunbury for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. In this leadership position, you will be responsible for leading the design of mechanical plant and equipment in the Bulk Materials Handling sector. Integral to the Engineering team at RCR Mining Technologies, you will be working within a dynamic and industry leading multi-disciplinary team. Using a First Principles approach to Engineering you will design OEM equipment, large plant and bespoke machines from the concept and pre-feasibility stages through to execution and client handover. You will be leading a Design team for respective projects, with a focus on delivering successful design-related functions. The role extends to mentoring junior Engineers and sharing your knowledge within the Design and Engineering group, providing opportunities for both reward and growth as an Engineer. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Leading and managing Design projects including preparation of design plans, task and job lists and documentation to track project progress Performing and verifying designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods, First Principles calculations, and/or current best practise Engineering methods Ensuring designs are compliant to relevant Australian Standards, statutory requirements, client specifications and Safety in Design philosophy Enhancing Engineering processes and procedures Leading and mentoring team members towards peak performance To be considered for this position, you will need to have: A degree qualification (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering 7 years’ of demonstratable experience in a Mechanical Engineering Design role Design Project Management experience Proven leadership and mentoring skills Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation Relevant experience in the Mining and Resource industry Good Mechanical Engineering Design skills Competence in performing FEA calculations and validation using ANSYS, Nastran and/or Strand7 software packages Demonstrated initiative in solving challenging problems The ability to meet deadlines and respond well to a changing work environment If this sounds like you, click on ‘Apply’ now.
