With continual growth and diversification, we are currently seeking for a Senior Mechanical Draftsperson to join our team in Bibra Lake. You will be responsible for interpreting specifications from the Mechanical Engineers and Naval Architects and provide guidance and mentoring to the junior members of the team. You will provide technical authority in the area of drafting, drafting standards, provide quality assurance of the team’s deliverables and provide the engineering team with a point of contact and be subject to approval by the Design Lead and Engineering Manager.
Essential:
- To lead as part of a team.
- High level Pipe 3D modelling experience.
- High level experience with Schematics.
- Experience with 2D detailing and 3D modelling of Hvac
- Understanding of materials and their compatibility in a marine environment
- Ship building, trade, and design experience. Knowledge of maritime regulations, design concept and naval architecture principles.
- 10 years’ experience in drafting for an engineering organization in a relevant industry.
- Proficient in defence programs, government acquisitions and project systems.
- Proactive manner demonstrating strong commercial aptitude and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, identify work priorities in a constantly changing environment.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid understanding of production methods and practical application of design.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving and planning skills. - Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment.
Desirable
- Experience in or with production highly sought after.
- Advanced AutoCad skills.
- Experience using Shipconstructor preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of AutoCad Plant.
- Experience in ship design preferred.
