About the Role:
We are seeking 2 experienced Senior Mechanical Engineers
This is an exciting role for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, working on mobile equipment that encompasses all aspects of an engineer’s skill set. You will be working as part of our international design team on product development, designing new equipment and updates for existing equipment. Your designs will be tailored to meet customer requirements, ensuring inherent safety and compliance with industry standards and regulations. In this role, you will work with our customers to deliver fit for purpose equipment in an ever-evolving oil and Gas industry.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Design and Development: You will spearhead the design and development of sophisticated mechanical components for workover rigs, catwalks, and mud trailers, aligning with industry standards and customer specifications.
- Advanced Analysis and Simulation: Conduct comprehensive modelling, analysis, and simulations to enhance product performance and ensure reliability.
- Project Leadership: Oversee projects from concept through to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and training to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
- Risk Management: Conduct thorough engineering risk analyses of designs and products to mitigate potential issues and optimize functional safety.
What We Require:
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of American Petroleum Institute (API) and Australian crane standards will be highly regarded.
- Only candidates with full working rights in Australia will be considered for this role.
What You'll Bring:
- Extensive Design Expertise: We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the detailed design of mechanical components, such as chassis structures, work platforms, masts, and booms.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: You should have demonstrated expertise in conducting finite element analysis (FEA) under complex loading conditions. This includes proficiency in selecting the most effective analysis methods and identifying critical load cases to ensure robust equipment design.
- Risk and Safety Focus: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating risk assessment and functional safety into design processes to enhance reliability and ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
- Technical Proficiency: Adept in 3D CAD systems like Inventor and AutoCAD, and FEA tools like Nastran. Knowledge of engineering software related to hydraulic and electrical systems will be advantageous.
- Hydraulic System Design Expertise: Possess substantial knowledge and hands-on experience in the design and optimization of hydraulic systems including circuit design and schematic creation.
- Project Leadership: Ability to manage entire project lifecycles, demonstrating strategic planning, resource allocation, and decision-making skills that align with business objectives.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead discussions with stakeholders and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions.
