The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Power Mechanical Enginer, to join us in our Engineering and Planning team in Brisbane or Mount Isa on a Permanent Full Time Basis.

Reporting to the Power Operations Engineering Manager - East, you will play a key role in providing technical Power focussed Mechanical & Rotating Engineering specialist services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior level Mechanical and Rotating Engineering support, including RPEQ services
  • Act as the first point of contact for mechanical and rotating issues escalation for Power assets in Eastern Australia, ensuring strategic and tactical requirements are considered in works prioritisation
  • Provide technical and strategic support for maintenance and inspection of rotating equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines and reciprocating engines as well as static mechanical equipment
  • Administer and drive reliability process outcomes, including incident investigations / root cause analysis and bad actor programs that continuously improve equipment and system reliability

Your background

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers, Australia or equivalent experience
  • Extensive engineering experience in the operation and maintenance, or design/construction of rotating and mechanical equipment in the Power industry (or equivalent)
  • Experience in Power generation steam systems, turbines and boilers
  • Operation and maintenance of power plants with experience in the development and management of asset plans
  • Experience in vibration analysis in industrial applications
  • Ability to perform Incident investigation, reporting, recommendations, and actions stewardship
