Senior Mechanical Engineer

Concentis has been engaged by one of our Tier-1 Mining Clients to source a Senior Mechanical Engineer position with a background in Mobile Fleet.
 
Located in the beautiful small town of Worsley, The opportunity welcomes applicants from local surrounding areas and other states who would be open to having a fully paid-for relocation. The stunning coastal city of Bunbury is a 45-minute drive from the site. This role will support a drive-in drive-out roster with the suited candidate living a maximum of 1 hour away from the site.
  
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical discipline engineers and external engineering service providers to support mobile equipment fleet maintenance and reliability.

  
Responsibilities:

• Build and develop equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within the operational area of responsibility. This includes ensuring adequate information is captured in the task list and associated work instructions to perform the intended tasks to the required standard safely.
• Lead a team of experienced Mechanical Engineers.
• Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements and create Safety Critical Equipment master data in SAP. Develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment. Ensure adherence to these statutory plans in SAP.
• Lead and promote discipline in engineering work, verify quality of completed tasks and enhance technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to the mechanical discipline.  

Qualifications & Experience: You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:  

• Visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence
• Knowledge of Mobile Equipment Maintenance & Reliability in the Mining context
• Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering methodologies, tools and software’s.
• Knowledge and experience implementing Management of Engineering Change.
• Significant experience in delivering a complete life cycle of design works within a brownfield environment within the resources or other heavy industry
• Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing engineering budgets and schedules.

 Qualifications for this position are:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
