Senior Mechanical EngineerCompany Overview

With a focus on quality and efficiency, we are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead in system-level design, implement advanced engineering techniques, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing detailed product engineering information, overseeing system-level design, and ensuring the efficient execution of engineering change management processes. Your expertise will be critical in implementing advanced analysis techniques, managing documentation, and providing engineering support services to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed product engineering information for manufacturing and installation drawings of conveyor belt equipment components and sub-systems.
- Lead system-level design of mechanical systems and associated sub-systems.
- Utilise Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques to verify manual and computational engineering calculations.
- Conduct Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) to assess bulk material flow performance.
- Ensure effective implementation of Engineering Change Management Processes from initiation to close-out phases.
- Establish product standards to streamline design efforts and reduce production and installation costs.
- Approve third-party documentation, such as Supplier drawings, to ensure accuracy of detail design.
- Manage all relevant documentation for engineering change management processes.
- Participate in quality management processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare engineering costing data for project variations.
- Generate 'Requests for Information' as needed.
- Maintain engineering tasks and Factory Test plans.
- Prepare schedules and budgets for projects/work allocated.
- Distribute work assignments to team members and ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
- Participate in forward resource planning activities.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to provide technical information for operation, maintenance, and training documentation.
- Participate in Design/Operation/Maintenance risk assessments and Failure Effects Model Analysis (FEMA) as required.
- Prepare and maintain equipment commissioning documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in conveyor belt equipment or similar industries.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) techniques.
- Strong understanding of Engineering Change Management Processes.
- Experience in quality assurance processes and documentation management.
- Proven ability to manage engineering projects, including costing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on mentoring and coaching.
