We are looking for 2 experienced Mechanical/Piping Engineers to assist us at a tier 1 operation who is constructing a Tailings Dams near in Central NSW. The first role is for a 5:2 roster Brisbane based role in the clients design office, with the second role being a 12:9 roster either fifo or DIDO on site in central NSW. The Role
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the primary responsibility of these positions is to provide designs and oversight for the mechancial and piping activities on site. As there is an industry shortage of professionals they are seeking the assistance of mining consultants to fill this gap. We are currently looking for qualified engineers with 10+ years experience in the design space.
We have no shortage of work at the moment and can pay well because of our low overheads. These roles are stable embedded roles for the next 12 months whilst the tailings dam is constructed (and likely extensions), with the ability to move to one of our many other clients on completion of this project at the same pay rate. All expenses will be paid for with Brisbane as the point of hire for the 5/2 role. The 12/9 role is FIFO or DIDO though if living in Bathurst/Orange/NSW this will be highly regarded for this site based role.
The role will involve:
- Manage the Mechanical and Piping Engineering for the project.
- Review progress reporting and drive mechanical and piping design to completion.
- Uphold a strong HSE focus within the team, ensuring integration of OHSE requirements into design and procurement processes.
- Ensure that the slurry piping is occurring within parameters.
- Interface with Stake holders assist in facilitation of design reviews
- Proficiently develop comprehensive engineering reports, contributing valuable insights and technical input to feasibility studies and project assessments.
- Execute intricate and high-level engineering calculations, applying precise methodologies to evaluate and determine project requirements and specifications.
- Liase with our contract partners to ensure quality assurance and compliance against standards.
- Set a personal example in health, safety and environmental matters by ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures through method statements, risk assessments and site briefings.
To be considered you must meet the following criteria:
- 10 Years of Mechanical/Piping Engineering Experience.
- Experience working on mining projects, with any tailings experience being highly regarded.
- Recent design experience (we are looking for a Design Engineer and not a career project manager)
- Have exceptional and professional communication skills to engage and influence other personnel within the business.
- Have excellent time management and task prioritisation skills.
- Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
