About The Role
Working with the Director Media and Communication, the Senior Media Advisor will develop and implement comprehensive media relations strategies that enhance Australian Energy Producers’ reputation and effectively communicate key messages to stakeholders.
This role contributes to the development and delivery of integrated communication and campaign strategies, supporting Australian Energy Producers’ advocacy for, and protection and promotion of, the oil and gas industry.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and executing media plans aligned with the organisation's strategic priorities.
- Contributing to issues management and crisis communication planning and readiness.
- Managing and delivering Australian Energy Producers’ media releases, responses and opinion editorials in collaboration with organisation leaders.
- Managing and delivering Australian Energy Producers’ trade media responses and article contributions.
- Acting as a contact for media including out-of-hours and on weekends.
- Managing media interviews and press conferences.
- Managing and distributing Australian Energy Producers’ daily media summaries, reports, transcripts, and clips.
- Monitoring and measuring the impact of media strategies, providing regular reports on key performance indicators.
- Contributing to the delivery of corporate communications including speeches, presentations, publications, campaigns and other content.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, or related discipline.
- Experience in media relations and corporate communication, preferably in the oil and gas, energy, or resources sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing media campaigns and securing positive media coverage.
- Demonstrated experience in crafting media communications and working directly with the media to deliver organisation communications.
- Strong understanding of the oil and gas industry, with the ability to translate complex technical information into accessible and engaging content.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage high-volume programs of work with multiple stakeholders and across different audiences.
