The Business Services and Support Branch (BSSB) provides advice and support to the Department on a range of workplace services, including property and facilities management, office services, protective security management, and information and records management.
The Protective Security team supports Finance’s functions and objectives by providing specialist, technical protective security advice, services and support to help protect Finance’s People, Property, Information and Reputation, consistent with the whole-of-government Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Assistant Agency Security Advisor (AASA) supports the Agency Security Adviser (ASA) in the administrative management of Finance’s Protective Security team and the operational Protective Security functions of Finance. The AASA is responsible for Finance’s operational physical security, consistent with the PSPF and departmental policy. The AASA will be a practical, pragmatic and driven individual who contributes to achieving the broader Protective Security objectives of the agency.
Under general supervision, the AASA will:
- Manage the administrative functions of Finance’s Protective Security team, including financial and contract management;
- Support the ASA to identify, assess and manage Protective Security risks and threats;
- Support the ASA to develop and maintain Protective Security policies based on the PSPF and agency specific security threats and risks;
- Support the ASA to maintain Finance’s physical security infrastructure, including management of the contracted security guarding service provider;
- Liaise with co-tenants, agencies and security agencies on Protective Security matters;
- Perform investigations into security incidents;
- Perform ongoing monitoring and status reporting of Protective Security procedures and systems; and
- Support the development and delivery of Protective Security training, education and awareness programs.
