Senior Media Advisor role in the public sector!

We're working with a major Public Sector utilities organisation to find their next Senior Media Advisor! This organisation is located in Melbourne's CBD with flexible working arrangements available.

Your new role

This role will undertake and support the orgaination's media manager in monitoring the internal and external environments to develop proactive media plans, stories and communications assets and also reactive/proactive media statements.

What you'll need to succeed

• Experience with real time and daily media monitoring and surveillance, including daily media monitoring and reporting by preparing and distributing the daily media report and alerts.
  
• Responds to media enquiries, research and develop reactive media statements, briefing documents and support materials within tight deadlines.
  
• Drive proactive PR management programs to build brand recognition.
  
• Manage any reactive media enquiries to proactively mitigate any media issues.
  
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with media and journalist relationships.
  
• Acts as the media on-call representative and participates in rotating on call roster.
  
• Plan and pitch positive stories to the media (producers & journalists) to promote the organisations brand.
  
• Experience working in Government will be advantageous.
