Echuca Regional Health (ERH) is a world class sub-regional hospital which services a catchment population of approximately 45,000. ERH provides a comprehensive range of health services, including: emergency; medical; surgical; rehabilitation; maternity; paediatrics; urology; orthopaedics; ophthalmology; dental; chemotherapy; and haemodialysis. With approximately 1000 staff, ERH is Echuca’s largest employer.

 The ERH Emergency Department (ED) manages in excess of 30,000 presentations per annum.  Reporting to the Director of Emergency Medicine, the Senior Medical Officer is responsible for:

• Providing high quality clinical care to emergency patients
• Ensuring patient flow is in line with National Emergency Access Targets (NEAT) and other Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Supervising Doctors in Training (DiTs)
• Supporting continual improvement of emergency services at ERH
