We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Metering Technician, on a permanent full-time basis.

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters, the depot offers an excellent on-site café, end of trip facilities including secure bicycle storage and freshening up rooms. About this role

As the Senior Metering Technician, you will be required to provide expert technical support and to coordinate the specialist complex work activities for the Complex Metering team. To carry out complex metering activities including site assessments, audits, and inspections of metering installations for compliance on metering engineering design, network design, Technical Rules, Metering Code and relevant Australian Standards.

In addition to reviewing and endorsing metering engineering designs, high voltage (HV) submissions and make appropriate recommendations to ensure they comply with the relevant regulations, Australian Standards and Codes. This will enable the delivery of expert technical advice and support to the Metering Area and large external customers.

About you

We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:

  • A relevant Trade Qualification with extensive industry experience ("A" Grade Electrical Workers Licence), Advanced diploma or tertiary qualification in electrical engineering
  • Current Electrical Workers License - essential
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years extensive post trade electrical industry experience including 5 years at a senior technical level
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in complex metering (High Voltage and power metering)
  • Extensive experience in complex metering (i.e. metering technical analysis and investigations, metering design, general meter engineering).
  • Significant knowledge of metering accuracy, burden measurement, error compensation, and instrument transformers testing.
  • Significant knowledge of the Western Australian Metering Code, Metrology Procedure, Australian Standards for Revenue Meters, and Instrument Transformers.
  • Valid WA Driver's License Class ‘C' or ‘C-A'
