Senior Mine Geologist

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate mine exploration field activities.
• Coordinate sample logistics and field procedures.
• Assist with drill core processing and samplings as required.
• Assist Exploration team with pre-production exploration activities.
• Supervise and manage infill RC grade control programs pre-production.
• Develop and initiate geological mapping systems in the mine areas.
• Monitor stocks of all site consumables and durables.
• Geological Activity/Grade Control/Operations
• Liaising with the drilling and blasting contractors and Mine Production Engineers.
• Develop and integrate mine database management with exploration database.
• Participation in daily mine planning and meetings.
• Manage and validate the timely and accurate collection of geological information to contribute to mine planning and optimize the mining resource.
• Manage resource model reconciliation and grade control model.
• Manage all information related to the resource, ensuring assays composites and densities related information is accurate and validated.
• Develop and implement grade control procedures and the system for the mining operation.
• and supportive commentary for reports and recommendations to management.
• Manage ROM and stockpile.
• Manage mine production grade control and sampling systems from mine to port.

• Manage, supervise, and mentor Mine Geologists and Pit Technicians.
• Oversee and verify models and interpretations build by Mine Geologists and or consultants.
• Provide Surpac training and grade control management to Mine Geologists.
• Recommend training and liaise with the HR Department to build capability within the Geology team.
• Conduct daily prestart and weekly safety meetings.
• Ensure all geology activity conducted by employees and contractors within the mining lease areas is conducted safely and achieves regulatory compliance.
• Drive a proactive safety culture to prevent harm to personnel and company assets, monitoring and ensuring safe geological work practices and mandatory safety training for the team is completed.
• Assist with the review and approval of geology services, exploration, and drilling program cost management to ensure best investment spend and cost efficiency.
• Recommend and assist the Manager Mining with best investment recommendations in regard to geology activity.

• Degree in Geology
• Current Competency - Providing First Aid
• Training in Section 44 of the MSIA
• Certification of supervision training
• Qualifications in Geostatistics

• 7-10 yrs. experience in a similar role managing and geology team.
• Desirable: Experience in pegmatite deposits.
• Software: Surpac and spatial data modelling software
