Senior Mining Engineer - Whitehaven Coal

The Senior Mining Engineer position based at our Tarrawonga Site is a critical role ensuring that the mining operations are well-managed, cost-effective, and compliant with safety and environmental regulations. This is a site-based role working a 9-day fortnight. Applicants must live local to the Gunnedah region or be willing to relocate (assistance provided).

• Provide technical support to mine operations, enabling the site to provide an increasingly safe and reliable operation
• Supervise and provide mentoring to Mining Engineers, ensuring their outputs align with business goals
• Lead the analysis and reporting of mining production data across the site
• Identify areas of technical and business improvement to increase productivity and reduce mining costs
• Ensure production budget is met by effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of activities relating to the mining fleet

Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in Mining Engineering
Highly developed skills in mine design and scheduling
Highly developed skills pertaining to mining software packages and engineering practices
Excellent communication and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
