About the role
The Senior Network Engineer is a key role within HammondCare, responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining the voice and data communication services, with a focus on maximum availability and operational performance.
Key Focus Areas
- Routing and Switching, SD-WAN, Wireless and RF engineering (Cisco and Meraki)
- VoIP & telecommunications (Cisco)
- Virtual & physical Firewalls
- Service optimisation/excellence
- Bachelor’s degree in IT-related discipline with 8+ years of industry experience
- More than 2 years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer
- Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of VOIP and networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies.
- Good knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to data communications / VOIP / networking.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies in the communications sphere, including data centre, cloud, WAN, VOIP and wireless.
- Strong skills in Router Hardware/Software, Switch Hardware/Software, Protocols (TCP/IP), Routing Protocols(BPG, OSPF), Firewalls(ASA, Sophos), VOIP, SIP & Cloud based voice services.
- Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN principles and implementation.
- Advanced operational knowledge of networking systems and software covering both Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills coupled with a customer service orientation.
- Certification in cisco or equivalent (CCNP, CCIE, CCNA)
- ITIL certification
- IT security experience
- Experience in network technologies, architectures, and solution design
