Senior Network Engineer

Who we are looking for?

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer for a hands-on role in our Brisbane office. The ideal candidate will be a key player in our advanced network management and strategy teams, going beyond the traditional responsibilities.  Your role will involve:

• Leading and enhancing our network infrastructure, focusing on complex issues in network design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Applying your extensive experience in network architecture and engineering to drive continuous improvement in our network systems, aligning them with business objectives and client needs.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of networking technologies and the delivery of high-quality service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain data and voice networks to a high standard.
• Expertise in Data Centre Switching and Routing, Carrier aggregation, and border protocols.
• Proficient in advanced networking solutions, including SDWAN, cloud networking with platforms like Azure and AWS, and VPN technologies.
• In-depth experience with firewalls and comprehensive network security.
• Strong understanding and implementation of network monitoring solutions.
• Adherence to standards, policies, and procedures in network operations.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar capacity.
• Strong experience with Cisco and Fortinet products and solutions.
• Proven expertise in network routers, switches, and SDWAN technologies.
• Demonstrable experience with Azure and AWS cloud networking.
• CCNA and CCNP certifications are required. Additional industry-based certifications, especially in Fortinet technologies, are highly desirable.
• A working knowlege of Microsoft related platforms and architectures.  You will likely have had some form of systems adminstration experieince and working knowlege of manageing and securing these environements

Personal Attributes:

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities effectively and allocate resources for successful outcomes.
• Relevant industry or tertiary qualifications are preferred.

In addition;

• You must hold a valid Australian driver's license
• Some weekend and after hours work maybe required

• You will need strong written and spoken communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and non-technical people
• You are able to champion an issue through to completion
• You will be self-motivated and  maintain a sense of urgency as the situation requires; we don't micro-manage your day
• You will be able to work individually and as part of larger team
