My client is a medium sized MSP based on South Terrace in the City with great loyal clients all over the metro area; giving you variety and challenge

In the security space, my client specialises in Cyber Security (GRC, Advisory, Technical / Vulnerability Assessments, Security Incident Management, Technical Control Implementations), Cloud (Office 365, AWS & Azure), and Modern Application Development.
As a Senior Network Security Consultant, you will be critical in the ongoing development and delivery of Comunet’s cybersecurity advisory capabilities and engineering delivery. You will work across a range of different teams and clients, and you will be able to balance conflicting priorities while maintaining focus on quality delivery and clients being our first thought.
The role itself focuses on delivering professional IT consulting services across a multitude of different clients focusing on network services and solutions. With your extensive knowledge and experience you will be able to assist clients in managing their network environments, including assisting with the development, design and delivering of network solutions, including but not limited to vendor security stacks from Fortinet, HP Aruba, Palo Alto and Cisco Meraki.
Although formally reporting to the Head of Cyber, we expect you to be able to show leadership by working with client managers, consulting, engineering, services, and development teams to develop and drive excellent client outcomes. You will also need to build and manage opportunities with new and existing clients. As part of an open, cross-organisational team we will look for you to put thoughts and ideas forward in a constructive way. You will also work with our engineer and technical consulting team on projects, and assist with escalation tasks from our services team.
Key responsibilities:
  • Design and implement solutions using skills in routing, switching, firewall, wireless, SD-WAN and cloud technologies.
  • Develop technical design documentation such as high-level design, low-level design and configuration templates.
  • Manage Client relationships and expectations for service and project delivery.
  • Perform network planning and reviews to ensure client environments meet organisational requirements
  • Provide technical oversight of projects through design, implementation and post-implementation review.
  • Assist with opportunity development including pre-project scoping and planning.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships to enhance technical capability and product offerings.
  • Contribute to the development of skills and knowledge in the consulting, engineering and services teams.
  • Provide escalation support on networking issues to our team of network & system engineers.

Key technical skills and hands-on experience
  • Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, Wireless
  • Networking in cloud environments such as Azure and AWS, including hybrid network configurations and management
  • Deep technical experience on a speciality area that may include one or more of Routing/Switching, SD- WAN, Network Security, Wireless with relevant industry certifications such as Cisco CCNP and
  • Must have a Fortinet NSE certification 5 -7 and hands-on experience at an enterprise level
  • Understanding of the security implications and controls within the solutions.
  • Ability to discuss requirements and solutions at a technical level.
  • Ability to discuss requirements and solutions plain English to business users and management.
  • Knowledge and experience in various industry verticals with a good understanding of related IT systems utilised within these industries.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management & ITIL practices.
  • Experience working with Project Management teams and leading project delivery.
  • Experience in contributing to pre-sales estimates and developing Bill of Materials. Experienced/exposure to Operational Technology/Industrial Networks
  • Experienced reading and interrupting infrastructure and engineering diagrams and extrapolating system requirements and technical queries
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including good documentation skills.
  • Experience working in a disciplined service delivery and consulting environment and being accountable for your time is desirable.
