Job description

The Ipswich Head to Health (HTH) Centre, funded by Darling Downs and West Morton PHN, offers inclusive, low-stigma Mental Health services, providing assessment, triage, referrals, and immediate support. It caters to individuals at all levels of need, fostering an innovative and flexible approach to service delivery.

The opportunity:
Join our team at Head to Health Ipswich as a Senior Occupational Therapist. Under the guidance of the Clinical Lead, you'll utilise your skills to provide high-quality, discipline specific and Mental Health evidence-based interventions for consumers' Mental Health needs, incorporating recovery, strength-based, and trauma-informed approaches. You'll also supervise both clinical and non-clinical staff while managing a 0.75 full-time workload caseload.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy services, encompassing individual and group interventions, comprehensive formulation, screening, and assessment for consumers.
  • Offer high-level consultation, assessment, and intervention to Head to Health consumers where occupational therapy is indicated due to high-level needs related to work, lifestyle, context, or trauma affecting their well-being.
  • Offer advanced brief therapeutic interventions to consumers, employing a diverse array of evidence-based methodologies such as psychoeducation, CBT, DBT, IPT, ACT, and SFT, tailored to address intricate and multifaceted presentations effectively.
  • Advocate for Mental Health needs of consumers, provide client-centered care, provide clinical supervision, and support onsite student placements.
  • Uphold confidentiality, comply with legislative requirements, and actively participate in clinical reviews and team discussions.

Benefits to you:
Besides shaping an innovative Mental Health service with dedicated staff and supportive leaders fostering a strong team culture, you'll enjoy competitive pay with annual incremental increases and a work environment that prioritises professional growth, skill-building, and staff well-being.

Additional benefits include:

  • Joining a newly formed positive, inclusive, values-focussed team.
  • Opportunity to salary package up to $15,900 of tax-free income.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program.
  • Rewards program that offers discounts on hundreds of household brands.
  • Access to appropriate and supportive clinical supervision.
  • Competitive compensation to align with clinical skillset.
