You will exercise independent professional clinical judgement in providing clinical services of a complex nature where principles, procedures, techniques, or methods require expansion, adaptation or modification.

Access theAbout the roleDeliver high level occupational therapy services and leadership within the inpatient caseload, including a dedicated Medical Assessment and Planning Unit (MAPU), at Ipswich Hospital, working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, delivering services to the patients of West Moreton Health. Occupational Therapy services within West Moreton Health include the provision of outpatient, inpatient and sub-acute clinical services. Services may be provided in hospital, a clinic, or patient's homes.This role may be eligible for the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive. - Clinical Expertise: A high level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in contemporary clinical practice standards for adult physical occupational therapy services relevant to the inpatient environment, including a dedicated MAPU Unit, as recognised by clinical experience, professional development activities, post graduate education or formal qualifications.
- Team Focus: Broad understanding of the continuum of care, and well developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, including the ability to work autonomously and flexibly with initiative in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Patient Focus: Build rapport with patients and demonstrate empathy, patience and respect in delivering a flexible service that meets patient's needs, in accordance with organisational goals.
- Quality Improvement: Applies clinical evidence that support continuous improvement, including the ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local quality and service improvement activities.
- Developing Self and Others: Demonstrated commitment to education and training including supervision of students and staff, as well as ongoing continuing professional development.
- Leadership and Organisational Skills: High level organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise clinical caseloads and non-clinical tasks, and the ability to provide leadership and direction to students, HP3 clinical staff and assistants.
