Attachments:CRVCID586582See the rewarding impact of your work in the health outcomes of our young patients.This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.We currently have weekend shifts available for Saturday & Sunday morning shifts, 8am – 12 noon as well as part-time, fixed term and casual leave cover.About our Occupational Therapy TeamBased at Perth Children’s Hospital, our dedicated team provide a statewide service to children aged 0–16 years, including inpatients (as part of a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals) and outpatients through medical clinics, and OT led clinics.We are committed to maximising a child’s potential through building and recovering skills and strategies that enable participation and engagement in everyday activities and adapt to each child’s age, developmental needs, illness, injury, or disability we evaluate sensory, cognitive, motor, and social-emotional skills. Through assessment and consultation with the child and their family, we aim to help young people achieve age-appropriate levels of independence.About the role:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team based at Perth Children’s Hospital. You will play a lead role in progressing referral, and admission of patients where appropriate, and addressing barriers for discharge home.Applying your experience from an acute setting, you will provide assessment and intervention for children referred to the OT department, to expedite discharge.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of safe patient care, ensuring services are family-centered and contributing to continuous quality improvement activities
  • Providing consultancy, contributing to service development, and upholding the highest standards of professional development and clinical governance.
  • Supporting OT assessment and intervention to expedite discharge, including basic equipment for safe discharge, transfer training, and transport support (e.g. car seats)
  • Providing Post Traumatic Amnesia assessment to expedite discharge
  • Providing pressure care and positioning assessment and management (e.g. Out of bed positioning options)
  • Supporting palliative inpatients requiring equipment and support for discharge
