An exciting opportunity exists for a (1 x 0.63 FTE) permanent part-time (Monday – Wednesday) Violence Prevention and Management trainer to join a small team of professionals at Macquarie Hospital supporting the whole of Northern Sydney Local Health District. The team is pivotal in creating a safer work environment through constantly implementing and improving the new model for Violence Prevention and Management Training in the District.

Where you'll be working
The VPMT team works from Macquarie Hospital and only have to work from Royal North Shore Hospital on an ad hoc basis.
What you'll be doing
Liaising with key stakeholders related to VPMT. Working collaboratively within a team of dedicated VPMT trainers. Implementing relevant training as required. Creating and sustaining a model of trainers/training. Working within a governance system for the training including ongoing competence. Ensuring training is provided to a critical mass from across the LHD. Supporting and peer coaching the trainer team. Liaising with HETI and other LHDs regarding currency of training. Informing reviews of training.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as a Registered Nurse, Allied Health Professional or eligibility for membership of AASW. Clinical Psychologists must hold full registration as a Psychologist and hold a Masters in Clinical Psychology. Registered Nurses must hold Post Graduate qualifications in a relevant clinical or education field. Allied Health professionals to have demonstrated extensive experience as a Level 2 or above. Holds current NSW drivers licence.
