About the Role:
We are pleased to announce that we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Paediatric Speech Pathologist (Grade 3) to join the Jacana Clinic within the FASD Service, as part of Developmental and Community Paediatrics at Monash Children’s Hospital. This is a part-time (0.2 EFT), 2 year fixed term role.
The Speech Pathologist will provide assessment of language, communication and oromotor function where indicated, contribute to multidisciplinary formulation, provide education to students and trainees, and provide clinical recommendations as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This program focuses on linking with and providing broader supports to the family, to ensure engagement with health and community services, and to optimise outcomes for the child and future healthy pregnancies.

About Us:
The FASD Service, through Developmental Paediatrics, provides specialist multidisciplinary assessments for children with pre-natal alcohol exposure, who show complex neurological, developmental and behavioural symptoms.
The service also delivers education, information and resources to communities at high risk of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), and provides clinical training in FASD diagnosis for paediatricians, psychologists, Speech Pathologists, occupational therapists and social workers. This role is within the Jacana Clinic, which provides service to infants and children aged 0-3 years.
About You:
You are a highly-skilled Speech Pathologist with specialist knowledge in communication and swallowing. You have a passion to work with babies and young children and are keen to be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team that is building this innovative service. You have a clinical background in early intervention, child developments or disability settings and are keen to work collaboratively with clinicians of other disciplines in the care of these children and families.
You also have the following qualities:
- Passion for working with children and infants
- Great organisation and ability to work across caseloads
- Committed to delivering patient centred care and patient advocacy
- Experience working as part of a wide multidisciplinary team
- Great communication skills with patients, families and other team members

What you need:
- At least 5 years’ experience working in paediatric settings
- Relevant Speech Pathology qualification
- Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team framework
- Demonstrated experience as indicated in the position description
- Australian working rights
