As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will play a vital role in driving our payroll function forward. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for payroll and compliance.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Process a weekly payroll for 100+ employees:
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies
Onboard employees, including organising accommodation and medicals:
- Facilitate smooth onboarding processes for new hires
- Coordinate accommodation arrangements and medical assessments
Monitor data collection efficiently:
- Regularly review and update employee information in the payroll system
- Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure data accuracy
Adapt and utilise new IT software:
- Stay current with payroll software updates and industry trends
- Provide training and support to team members on new software features
Report statutory obligations as required:
- Compile and submit accurate reports for tax and compliance purposes
- Stay informed about changes in relevant legislation affecting payroll
Troubleshoot payroll queries in a timely manner:
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding payroll matters
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve complex issues
Liaise and communicate with Managers and Clients, both internally and externally:
- Foster effective communication channels with managers and clients
- Ensure payroll processes align with client and company expectations
Our Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Experience in high-volume processing or within a labour hire environment
- Strong understanding of Awards and EBA, with the ability to interpret these
- Worked with payroll across multiple states
- Adaptable to multiple software packages
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in end-to-end/high volume payroll
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding and reporting of statutory obligations
- Experience in data migration
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
