Who are we looking for?

We have an opportunity for a Senior People Business Partner to join our close-knit team based in Perth. 

Reporting to the Regional People Leader you will be responsible for leading a team of People Business Partners as well as aligning HR strategies to the business objectives for their Region. The position serves as a strategic partner and proactively partners with Business Leaders to assist with the strategic business outcomes by implementing the People plans, initiatives, policies, and programs across the Region (WA). 

In this strategic role you will:

  • Contribute to the development of the People business plan for the current financial year and be responsible for the execution of the plan for the Region
  • Contribute to and support the business by planning and executing People plans and strategic solutions that result in successful business outcomes
  • Partner with Regional leadership teams and BGL's to understand business priorities and talent needs to proactively respond both strategically and tactically as required to meet business needs
  • Participate and support the creation and implementation of people programs, strategies, and plans in consideration of the business priorities
  • Collaborate with the People Centres of Excellence to influence the design of new and existing HR programs, practices and process
  • Work with Business Group Leaders (BGLs) / Leaders to collaboratively develop actions to build a high-performance culture and increase staff wellbeing and engagement
  • Execute and support the Regional People Leader with day-to-day management of a change plan within the Region in support of business priorities.
  • Influence and assist organisational change initiatives in support of business strategies
  • Evaluate and handle escalated Employee Relations issues as they arise
  • Proactively manage employee issues such as grievances, performance and misconduct in a timely manner with a focus on organisational and individual outcomes
  • Deliver both strategic and tactical HR Programs to the relevant Business Groups
  • Builds relationships and forms alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and stakeholders to scan for innovations and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse market trends, people reports, dashboards and datasets to make quality, data-driven talent recommendations and business decisions

 About you:

  • Tertiary qualified in HR, IR or Business with significant experience at strategic and operational level gained from ideally working within a professional service environment
  • Credible experience in championing effective performance discussions including feedback and coaching.
  • Experience with the implementation of design, delivery and execution of HR projects such as Engagement activities, performance management, talent identification. 
  • Confidence supporting with all employee issues such as grievances, performance and misconduct in a timely manner with a focus on organisational and individual outcomes.
  • Strong influencing, communication and project management skills

This role is a permanent role which can be either part time or full time but must be based in Perth
