Senior People & Culture Adviser

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior People & Culture Advisor to join our team and provide comprehensive HR support to our people. Based in Norwest Business Park (Bella Vista) and reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance management. You will also work alongside the People & Culture Manager to shape and implement our people strategies, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and fostering a positive workplace culture.

In this position, you’ll be:

  • Partnering with management to provide expert advice, support, coaching and training on employee relations matters, performance management and talent development.
  • Working proactively with our teams, answering queries on HR issues, systems, policies, processes, and award obligations.
  • Working as a key member of the People & Culture Team to implement HR Strategies that support the company’s goals.
  • Lead the recruitment and selection process for both our white-collar and blue-collar roles, including preparing position descriptions, resume screening, interviewing, and conducting background checks to attract and retain top talent.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, retention and organisational culture.
  • Advise and manage employee relations matters, including performance counselling, grievances and terminations and provide guidance to resolve.
  • Overseeing Worker’s Compensation and management of return-to-work cases.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of learning and development initiatives.
  • Conduct training sessions on various HR topics to educate and support managers and employees.
  • Developing and maintaining solid working relationships with managers and employees.  
  • Keeping informed about current HR trends, best practices and legal requirements and ensuring the business is compliant.
  • Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Lead and participate in HR projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in an HR role, preferably within a dynamic and fast-paced environment (any experience within the construction industry would be highly regarded).
  • Deomstrated experience in managing employee relations, performance management and talent development.
  • Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and solutions-orientated mindset.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
