Your Role

The Senior Philanthropy Manager is a pivotal role within our Philanthropy team. In this capacity, you will contribute significantly to the strategic direction and implement successful execution of our philanthropic initiatives. Collaborating closely with the Director, you will forefront the growth of our philanthropic revenue to directly impact our strategic priorities. 

The role will be primarily focused on building relationships and philanthropic revenue for the School of Veterinary Medicine, but also managing a small portfolio of donors/prospects across the University.

Your role will be instrumental in assembling and supporting a dedicated philanthropy team, in alignment with the Director’s vision. You will build long-term deep engagement within the community, develop regular and major gift fundraising initiatives supported by prospect research and data driven decision making to boost philanthropic revenue.

What you’ll bring to this role

  • Postgraduate qualification with a minimum of 5–8 years of fundraising and management expertise (or an equivalent combination),
  • Substantial fundraising experience in roles that demonstrate successful outcomes in discovery, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, with particularly expertise managing capital campaigns,
  • Proven experience building a philanthropy team with demonstrated leadership and management expertise,
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to deliver group presentations, lead meetings and liaise with people at all levels, and;
  • Ability to effectively liaise with senior executives and high-net-worth individuals to influence and drive fundraising strategies.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar position within a university setting.
  • Experience writing and securing philanthropic grants.
