- Assess development applications and proposals for infrastructure designations under the Planning Act 2016, Economic Development Act 2012 and other legislation in relation to corridor protection for existing and future railways and busways, public passenger transport and active transport in accordance with statutory requirements, guidelines and procedures.
- Provide technical planning advice to both internal and external stakeholders relating to the application of the Planning Act 2016, the Transport Planning and Coordination Act 1994 and the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 regarding TMR's transport interests.
- Provide technical input into the preparation of policies, codes and technical guidelines relating to TMR's transport interests in development assessment and other processes under the Planning Act 2016.
- Consult and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare formal correspondence, advice, reports, and briefing notes.
- Development assessment knowledge and skills that you will use to assess development proposals and prepare technical advice on a range of matters concerning State transport interests, within statutory and agreed timeframes.
- Demonstrated analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend practical solutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders from across a range of areas including within TMR and external to TMR.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in preparing reports and communicating complex technical material to less technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage and prioritise competing timeframes within a busy work environment, whilst consistently delivering a high standard of work.
