- Facilitating timely and efficient processing of complex and/or significant Development and Subdivision applications;
- Providing expert advice to internal and external customers on various complex planning matters;
- Researching and collaborating with internal departments on identifying placemaking initiatives to foster the improvement of public places;
- Providing support to the development assessments stream; and
- Leading the Development and review of internal processes to ensure assessment of complex and significant applications are continuously efficient.
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring staff on a technical level;
- Sound knowledge and experience in project management practices;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Highly developed negotiation and public relations skills;
- Experience in examining, processing and reporting on development applications, town planning scheme amendments, structure plans and Subdivision applications;
- Possession of a degree qualification in urban and regional planning or equivalent; and
- Fire Protection Association Level 1 Bushfire Assessors Course (desirable).
