The City is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to fill the Senior Development Compliance Officer position in the City’s Compliance team. 

  • Salary from $97,901.81 to $103,198.77 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (+ up to 15.5% employer superannuation contributions)
  • Permanent – full time position
  • 5 weeks annual leave
  • Restricted private use or commuting use of council vehicle

About the Role

A rare opportunity exists to join the City’s Development Compliance team. As a valued member of the Strategy and Development Directorate, the key focus of the role is to ensure compliance with the provision of Local Government Planning and Building Legislation and Policies and resolve cases of non-compliance.

The successful candidate will support the Coordinator Compliance Services in the day-to-day operations and supervision and mentoring of Development Compliance Officers. What are we looking for?

We are seeking applications from candidates who have considerable experience and comprehensive skills and knowledge in a compliance related field.

An ability to understand and to interpret approved plans, Acts and Regulations is essential. As is a demonstrated skill in problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation.

Local Government experience in the application of Planning and Building legislation, and Local Laws is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be a true team player with excellent attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively. In return, we offer a progressive, supportive and flexible work environment working with passionate individuals.

They will require a current “C” class driver’s licence.
