The primary objective of the Senior Platform Engineer role is to architect, develop, and coordinate the management of a robust, scalable, and efficient platform infrastructure. This role strives to elevate our platform into a sophisticated product that empowers engineering teams to independently access and use platform resources, reducing dependencies and accelerating development cycles. You get a chance to lead collaborative efforts with delivery teams to improve and operate our cloud-based platforms, using AWS Cloud services to enhance the platform's capabilities, ensuring it is secure, reliable, and efficient.
The role requires a passion for automation and optimization, as well as being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
The day to day
- Own the design and development of a scalable and robust platform infrastructure that meets the diverse needs of engineering teams.
- Orchestrate the automation of platform management and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Use tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage infrastructure through code, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
- Lead efforts in containerization using Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes to streamline application deployment and management.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions and optimize platform performance to ensure reliability and optimal performance.
Why you are our next Senior Platform Engineer
- Expertise in Scripting and Automation: High proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automating platform management and deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code Proficiency: Deep experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for managing infrastructure through code.
- Containerization Mastery: Extensive knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
- Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Strong background in implementing and using monitoring tools and techniques to ensure platform reliability and performance.
- Collaboration and Communication: Excellent ability to collaborate with multi-functional teams and effectively communicate technical concepts.
- Security Knowledge: In-depth understanding of security standard processes and compliance requirements for cloud platforms.
