This position has recently become available due to an internal promotion.
Your new role
As the Senior Policy Adviser, you will be involved in:
- Take ownership in creating and coordinating extensive research and analysis of exciting policies and positions
- Research and put together reports and policy proposals
- Utilise research to advance the organisation's policy and provide advice for appropriate outcomes
- Prepare policy and position statements
- Prepare submissions, background papers, briefing papers and reports for the committees
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships with internal staff, government bodies and members
- Response to written and verbal enquiries
- Communicate and advocate, representing the organisation
- Provide and coordinate secretariat support to the committees and working groups
- Provide guidance and support to other Policy Advisers
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you will have relevant experience in policy development and advocacy work.
You will ideally have solid working knowledge of Australia’s health system and current issues in medico politics.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication and experience in researching and developing policy.
