THE ROLE:
We have a EL1 Senior Policy Adviser ongoing position available within the Visitor Economy Workforce Capability Section.
A merit list will be developed and may be drawn on for emerging policy vacancies in future at Austrade. Note staff will need to attend an Austrade office at least three days of any week (for full time equivalent roles) with flexible working available for the remaining two days.

- Provide strategic advice on the visitor economy workforce issues to Government and Industry partners and other policy areas where required
- Use knowledge of government policy and strategic capabilities to influence and support the Government’s tourism and broader visitor economy priorities across government.
- Develop high-quality, data-driven briefings, analysis and advice to the Minister and Austrade Senior Executive to inform and influence government deliberations on visitor economy issues.
- Contributing to high performing teams by providing innovative, creative policy advice to achieve visitor economy outcomes.
- Having a collaborative mindset and a willingness to engage across Austrade, Australian government, state and territory governments, Tourism Australia and industry stakeholders, to keep a finger on pulse of the visitor economy workforce challenges and contribute to broader policy and program requirements
- Delivering effective team support and advice across the Division to ensure Government and agency needs are met with resources shared and ideas and innovation encouraged within a team approach.
