An opportunity for a 9 month maternity leave fixed term position has become available with an organisation that provides services to support the delivery of training, continuing professional development, and health policy and advocacy within the medical industry in both Australia and New Zealand. This role is looking for candidates available within a short turnaround.
The role:
- Develop policy, advocacy, and communication strategies to support the organisations priorities.
- Create policies, position statements, and advocacy materials based on input from internal staff.
- Engage organisations membership with policy and advocacy efforts through strategic strategies.
- Identify and implement innovative advocacy initiatives with measurable effectiveness.
- Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Provide advice, research, and support to Policy and Advocacy Managers and senior management.
To be successful you will possess:
- Experience in the development of health policies, position statements and briefing papers
- Highly developed analytical skills, political judgement and strategic thinking
- Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
- Ability to work within a context of ambiguity and identify potential solutions
- Proven track record in developing effective advocacy strategies and materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially the ability to adapt writing style to a specific audience and /or purpose and with attention to detail
- Relevant tertiary qualifications eg. political science, communications health policy, or related discipline
