Senior Policy Officer

We are seeking a knowledgeable Senior Policy Officer to join our Startegy and Governance team. Two exciting opportunity exisit (permanent and temporary), to work within a team delivering strategic planning, governance, policy, engagement and advisory services. The team combines contemporary thinking and practices in a proactive and positive manner within a highly complex and changing environment.

• Using your familiarity with the public sector context, including an understanding of government corporate governance requirements, interpret, apply and communicate legislative requirements using effective written and oral communication skills.
• Achieving government and organisational objectives by identifying, researching, analysing and developing policies and strategies.
• Preparing accurate and concise correspondence, reports, technical and policy documents, submissions and briefing papers by using demonstrated high level oral and written communication skills.
• Drawing accurate conclusions and providing authoritative advice to decision-makers using analytical, research and problem-solving skills including the ability to review and synthesise information from multiple sources.
• Consulting and negotiating with other areas of the agency, government departments and stakeholders on a range of topics including policy, performance, reporting, complaints and information privacy.
• Managing change and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement to meet deadlines and commitments using project management skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
