Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Policy Officer who will be responsible for delivering key policy development and programs under the renewable energy transformation.
- 6 month initial contract with 6 month extension option

As a Senior Policy Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of strategic programs and policy development to achieve key transformation objectives, including Local Content Targets and the Queensland Renewable Energy Procurement Policy. You will be responsible for researching, analysing, and advising on complex policy and regulatory issues in the energy sector.
You will prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely deliverables such as briefing notes, submissions, presentations, speeches, publications, reports, and correspondence. Your role will involve liaising, consulting, and negotiating with State Government and Commonwealth agencies, Government-owned corporations, market and regulatory entities, energy customers, and representative bodies.
Additionally, you will support project delivery through scoping, planning, establishing governance arrangements, managing resources, and developing methodologies for future work programs. Managing competing priorities effectively and collaborating with colleagues or working independently to deliver workloads on time and meet customer expectations are essential aspects of this role.
Contributing to a positive and effective team culture by participating in goal-setting, service improvement, and other unit/divisional activities, as well as developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to Government, are also key responsibilities.

- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and an ability to identify cross-governmental linkages for effective policy planning and management.
- Experience in communicating with internal and external stakeholders, building relationships, and establishing mutually beneficial connections.
- Thorough knowledge of the full policy development cycle.
- Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the renewable energy industry.
- Commitment to supporting equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion in the workplace.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferred experience in policy development and implementation.
