The Senior Policy Officer works as part of a flexible and high performing team on a range of activities that deliver key workforce and industry reform policy in the disability portfolio and broad community services sector. As part of a newly formed branch, the role requires strong analytical, stakeholder management and communication skills to help develop a strategic agenda and deliver a range of workforce initiatives.

- Develop policy initiatives and reform that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters.
- Produce complex, high-quality documents including policy papers, operational guidelines, data and strategic reports, briefings, proposals, research papers and other similar documents to contribute to implementation and support decision making
- Contribute to the full life cycle of projects to meet departmental objectives including:
- Undertaking research, analysis and implementation of projects based on defined outcomes and outputs.
- Managing projects or sub-projects and being accountable for the successful delivery and completion of the projects/sub-projects within resourcing, timeline, and budget parameters.
- Monitoring and evaluating projects to ensure departmental objectives are met.
