Governance, Strategy and Planning undertakes a range of enterprise activities to support the department to meet its strategic objectives and operational requirements, and delivers services and products to support frontline and corporate staff to effectively and confidently perform their duties.GSP is seeking motivated, critical thinkers with strong problem-solving skills who are passionate about working with stakeholders to achieve better outcomes for our customers. Three exciting roles are available in the following areas:Maturing departmental approaches to human rights and customer complaints management:
* Support development of tailored complaints and human rights resources and training to build capability in frontline and corporate areas;
* Provide support, advice and training to business areas;
* Support collaboration with other business areas to drive continuous improvement in complaints management and reporting.
Maturing departmental approaches to enterprise risk management:
* Work with specialist teams to ensure risks are assured through effective processes and systems to support schools;
* Support the development and review of risk management resources, including framework, policy and procedure;
* Support the review, analysis and critique of quarterly risk assessments and control environments by business areas and regions, to provide advice, support, and reporting to executives.
Mature departmental approaches to project management and coordinate departmental and whole of government corporate reporting and planning:
* Contribute to the development of project management resources and capability building
* Provide technical support for the department's project management system, Enterprise Project Online
* Develop the department's Annual Report and coordinate departmental and whole of government reporting, such as specific purpose plan reporting.
We are looking for Senior Policy Officers who have the following attributes:
* the ability to research and analyse issues, communicate complex information in clear and user-friendly products, and make informed recommendations
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills and a commitment to customer service;
* The ability to use or quickly acquire knowledge and capability in IT systems (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Project)
* High level writing and communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and coordination skills.
