Senior Portfolio Planner – Scheduling

About the role
Finding better ways to provide the materials the world needs.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to take on a new role, within our Resource Development team as a Senior Portfolio Planner, based across the Pilbara.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced production/ mine planner to take the next step in their career and lead a new portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for tactical planning and scheduling for drilling operations in mining and exploration operations across the short and medium term planning horizon .
Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Scheduling, Resource Development and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:
  • Lead and manage a team of Planner/Schedulers within the broader Resource Development planning team
  • Develop, own and effectively communicate quality short term execution schedules on a two-weekly basis, including the reporting functionality to assist in inputting, aligning, measuring, conforming and reconciling production schedules
  • Develop routines to assist in inputting, aligning, measuring, conforming and reconciling 2 week & monthly production schedules
  • Develop and facilitate escalation matrix for critical hold/decision points for plan execution
  • Own relationship with Mine Technical Services Schedulers / Project Engineers and align Resource Development quarterly production plan into the 2 week execution plan
  • Develop robust processes and routines of inputting actual time and physicals into the Primavera P6 Resource Development schedule
  • Develop reconciliation tactics, lessons learnt and handover scope closure to the drilling and Rehabilitation portfolios
  • Contribute towards a strong safety culture across Resource Development through leadership in the field and championing safety improvements. Ensure that safety is prioritised in all planning and scheduling decisions, e.g. minimising travel time/distance, contractor changes, rig movements, etc.
What you’ll bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • High level of expertise in production/mine planning or scheduling
  • Familiarity across Resource Development operations (site experience advantageous, with breadth across multiple areas/functions, e.g., geology, hydrogeology, survey, etc.)
  • Experience in effectively collaborating with stakeholders
  • Able to lead a team, with a focus on capability development
  • Ability to prioritise and manage an evolving workload
  • Outside the box and solutions focused thinking
  • Proven experience using Primavera P6 is highly regarded

In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
We are one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of iron ore.
This role will be available as FIFO from Perth, operating on a 5:2 / 4:3 roster across a wide portfolio of projects.
