The Family Support Services coordinate an effective service system response to respond to high and complex?needs, and trauma. The program must be able to engage with, and work effectively?with, the broader service system. The Family Support Services has a clear mandate to information exchange between service providers and Department of?Territory Families, Housing and Communities to ensure quality of services,?efficiency and prevent unnecessary statutory intervention.? The service prioritises and fosters sector partnership and collaboration and services are based on evidence and focused on outcomes.? The Senior Practitioner position will oversee case management and case work service for the Family Support Service. This position will add value to the program in the form of additional leadership by mentoring, supporting and providing supervision to Practitioners, Aboriginal Family Support Workers, and other staff as needed. Additionally, it will involve undertaking complex case management processes.The Senior Practitioner is a member of the Western Australia and Northern Terriroity team, located in the Darwin office and reports to the Team Leader NT Family Support Services.The FSS provides an intensive in-home support case management model which works alongside vulnerable families. This includes:Families whose children are at risk of entering the care system;Families working towards reunification;Families whose children are not at risk of entering the care system and need general Family Support;Pregnant women.This is a Full-Time opportunity based in Darwin, NT within our Northern Territory (NT) Services Program. The position reports to the Family Support Services Team Leader.Key Selection Criteria:To be successful in this role, you will have:Bachelor's degree with specialisation in in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related subject area and/or study with a combination of experience, expertise and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at level.Extensive experience and demonstrated skills in working with vulnerable children, young people, and families in a trauma-informed way. An understanding of the child protection system including the out of home care service system.A minimum of 3 years of case management experience, including the management of complex cases.Ability to provide quality mentoring, support and supervision to case managers, Family Support workers and other staff.
