Find out more about us and our purpose.Your Opportunity The Townsville Youth Foyer is an integrated learning and accommodation model supporting young people aged 16-25 at risk of or, experiencing homelessness. Located in Pimlico, The Foyer provides forty, one-bedroom units , fully furnished for eligible participants for up to 24 months.Townsville Youth Foyer is a culturally safe, inclusive, and diverse environment where Young People feel safe and supported to achieve their dreams. Using the "Advantage Thinking" approach, The Foyer provides coaching and support across the following six key Services: Education and Training; Employment; Health and Wellbeing; Social Connections; Civic Participation; Housing (maintaining a good tenancy).As the Senior Practitioner, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing life-changing programs at the Youth Foyer. Your creative contributions will include case management, empowering team development, and overseeing the daily operations of this transformative program. Collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, Mission Australia Housing, and the local community to create a positive and lasting impact on the lives of youth.Your key responsibilities will be to: Establish a secure environment for young people aligned with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations Lead and enhance relationships with internal and external stakeholders Foster a positive and growth-oriented work culture that encourages innovation and collaboration Assist in the provision of all 6 services including: client intake, transitions, activity planning, linking with support agencies and other routine tasks Collaborate and connect with Young People and Pathways Specialist to actively engage in relevant sector agencies and programs Foster positive relationships for young people from diverse backgrounds Actively participate in community network meetings and group activities Support and motivate team members in daily operations, supervision, and program assistance to achieve program outcomes Requirements for Success Relevant degree or associate diploma and/or experience working with young people and/or homelessness A good understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged young people in Townsville regarding housing Leadership skills with the capacity to inspire and foster creativity to achieve exceptional results Knowledge of the Advantage Thinking Framework and a Growth Mindset Previous case management experience supporting young people from a range of different cultural backgrounds Strong listening and engagement skills, with proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with staff, internal and external stakeholders, and clients A personal alignment with the values of Mission Australia Ability to work weekends and after hours to deliver programs and services for young people on a rostered basisPlease include a cover letter outlining how you meet these requirements.Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our Culture Our innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.
