Sydney Water is a state-owned corporation providing essential potable drinking water, wastewater and stormwater services to Greater Metropolitan Sydney, Illawarra, and Blue Mountains regions. As Australia’s largest water utility, the business will service another two million people by 2050. To enable this growth, Sydney Water will invest $34 billion over the next decade to renew existing assets, deliver new investments in water supply, recycled water, stormwater, and waterway management, as well as renewable sources of energy.
This once-in-a-lifetime infrastructure investment requires a highly capable Senior Pre-Contract Manager-Major Projects to develop, deploy, and manage delivery strategies for $16 billion of procurement within Major Projects. Reporting to the Commercial Director, the successful candidate will have seven years plus experience in construction and infrastructure projects, as well as a strong understanding of different construction models/frameworks such as alliance, JVs, D&C delivery and partner models. In addition, previous experience with NEC4 contracts will be well regarded.
You are a talented and strategic procurement and delivery focused infrastructure manager who will build capability and work in partnership with the business to ensure value for money, compliance, appropriate service levels, and best practice. In addition to having working rights in Australia, your candidacy is supported by relevant tertiary qualifications such as quantity surveying, construction management/law, engineering, or business.
This is a rare and challenging career opportunity to join Sydney Water’s once in a lifetime infrastructure investment and make a tangible contribution to the creation and renewal of the essential infrastructure critical to effectively meeting the needs of Sydney Water’s growing customer base.
