At ING Australia, you’ll have the chance to build a career as unique as you are, with the global scale, inclusive culture, and technology to become the best version of you.We are on the hunt for an experienced Policy Governance Manager to join our high performing Integrative Risk team, where you’ll be responsible for maintaining the Policy House for the Bank providing overarching policy house governance, maintaining objectives and principles for policy development and review to ensure high quality, consistent policy documents that reflect and embed ING’s values, comply with legal requirements, support quality assurance, reduce risk and which are readily accessible and understood by stakeholder groups.Please note this is a 12-month fixed term contract.Ready to do your thing?What you’ll do
- Manage day to day coordination and successful delivering of the Policy House governance function;
- Manage, monitor and coordinate the Review Schedule with Policy Owners to ensure an effective review cycle process in line with good industry practices;
- Maintain and embed minimum standards (in alignment with the ICBP), reviewing and providing constructive challenge on structure, and quality assurance;
- Act as a gatekeeper to ensure approval conditions for policies are addressed before resubmission;
- Communicate with ING Group Policy House function to advocate and embed best practices for Policy House governance;
- Provide reporting on policy management to internal Management Committees and the Board of Directors; and
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
- Minimum 5+ years practical experience in a risk, compliance or policy role in the financial services industry (in either Line 1 or Line 2)
- The capability of drafting/reviewing complex technical or legal documents and identifying inconsistencies
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels of management (both internally and externally), make recommendations and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
- A good understanding of the banking landscape, legal and regulatory environment, awareness of current industry threats, trends and issues which could potentially affect the Bank’s business
- The ability to comprehend and simplify complex documents
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; with the ability to proactively identify and diagnose related issues quickly and provide business oriented solutions
