With a strong pipeline of work and our long-term partnerships in the water market, we are seeking a Senior/ Principal Process Engineer to join our Melbourne Water Team.
The Opportunity
Wastewater technical leader who will actively mentor, guide and develop wastewater treatment engineers locally.
Provide technical leadership to support the development of established and new clients.
Provide support to the national Process Engineering team as a technical leader.
Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for treatment projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
Focus on the design, operation, control, optimization, and intensification of chemical, physical/mechanical, and biological processes for wastewater treatment.
Investigate and advise on unusual and difficult problems encountered in the Process Engineering practice that requires innovative solutions.
Perform or supervise advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects including process design, Process Engineering, PFDs, P&IDs, Functional Descriptions, drawings, engineering reports, and presentations.
Collaborate with stakeholders in client project requirement meetings, coordination meetings with internal and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors in preparation and coordination of project specifications.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of Process Engineering and keep informed of new methods and developments.
About you
Tertiary qualified in Engineering, with the relevant professional experience within the wastewater industry to the public sector.
Chartered Engineer.
Minimum of 10 years' experience or equivalent in wastewater treatment Process Engineering.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects and working collaboratively with clients and colleagues both regionally and nationally.
Strong self-management skills.
Expert in dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
Strong ability to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting work relationships with our clients and colleagues both locally and across the broader Stantec team.
