Exciting Opportunity to join the Procurement team within Finance and support the Chief Finance Officer.
What you will be doing
- Applying procurement expertise to deliver required solutions to create value for Government and business.
- Undertaking better procurement practice in the areas of strategy, governance, management, operations and technology.
- Facilitating changes to traditional procurement practices and developing guidance materials to guide better procurement practice methods.
- Evaluating methodology to determine value for money in principles-based procurement to create efficiencies and achieve cost reductions in line with government needs.
- Developing an informed understanding of the housing and broader social services sector requirements of the business to be procured across a variety of dimensions ensuring consistency with agency business goals and policy, to enable you to source procurement solutions.
- Using evidence-based tools to analyse and interpret business data and information such as strategic business plans and mega-category plans to reach sound and consistent conclusions that transparently shape the procurement strategy.
- Identifying incidents that are at risk of compromising probity and audit requirements, planning and delivering market engagement and tendering processes consistent with policy and probity requirements.

Whilst not mandatory, the following skills, qualifications and experience are highly desirable:
- Formal procurement, purchasing and/or contract management accreditation will be well regarded (i.e., Diploma in Procurement and Contract Management, Queensland Government Procurement training and certification program, CIPS or similar).
Due to recent machinery of government the department is now called Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works.
